Weekly bible talk week 9, faith not fear and going forward in your faith
So every wednesday at my church there is this youth program called Uprising. It is amazing and we have the best youth pastor ever and his name is Morgan. Morgan talked about faith instead of fear. In life we tend to stick ourselves right where we are because maybe it is comfortable or it seams like that is where everyone else is. You are failing in school, your family is loosing money, you have depression because you are lacking trust in God! So often we blame God asking why it is he has brought us this far to run into a wall? But hardly ever do we take the blame for not trusting God. Often times we go back to the depression, the loneliness and not being in church and we stick ourselves in pools of bitterness. We settle ourselves where we are because we find it comfortable and so we stay there but we need to GO FORWARD!!! When you are in the seasons, MOVE! GO FORWARD! Don't just sit there trying to be comfortable; but let me tell you that you won't be comfortable. Instead you will actually be more miserable! If you stay right where you are you will drown, if you go back, you are going back to slavery! You have one option. Go forward! There is an enemy back there waiting for you to turn back but don't go back! Go forward, go to Jesus. No one says things like " I like being depressed, I like being alone, I like being so far away from the church but often times we act this way because we strangely feel that this is comfortable. We know God is here to save us but we feel sometimes that we have no other option than to move back or stay where we are. Only a few short months ago, I was lacking trust in God and I became very depressed and I felt that there was no other option than to be the terrible person I had been or to stop my whole life! But let me tell you THERE IS ANOTHER OPTION!!!! Now you might ask; how do I change the way I am? How do I get back on the right track?
step 1: STOP LIVING A FEARFUL LIFE! -god did not call you to be fearful! NO! He called on you to be strong and courageous! Don't just sit there being "comfortable"! Move and your faith will change for the better!
step 2: GOING FORWARD KEEPS US FROM BACKSLIDING!- If you take your foot off the gas, you go backwards very fast! Often times if this happens you will crash! If we are not moving forward in our faith, we are moving backwards. We start looking over our shoulders once we stop going forward.
These are the two steps you take to get your life back on track! Take them! I DARE YOU :). Guys keep moving forward! When the past starts to look good you know that you have stopped moving forward! When you stop going forward, you fail to see the miraculous! - Little side story:
So a few days ago my best friend had a cardiac arrest, (I'm not naming any names). Honestly I was so scared. Instantly I began to pray and I prayed and prayed and prayed. At this moment I am still praying! When this happened we were at a restaurant for my birthday party actually. We were in the back of the restaurant in a tucked away little room - (that's the first miracle!) There were maybe three other tables of people in that back room. At one of those three tables was a Pediatrician who actually happens to be on staff at the same hospital that my best friend is at!!! - (second miracle!) At another table was a lady who was a nurse!- (third miracle) They gave her CPR and they later took her to the hospital. My mom later found out that not only was the pediatrician on staff at the same hospital my best friend was at and only worked 1 floor up from where she was. But my mom told me that both the nurse and the pediatrician changed their plans that night just to go to that particular restaurant! The weird thing about this was that my mom was supposed to drive us to a restaurant further away but we had changed our plans to go to that particular restaurant! I saw the miraculous! you will too!

this is another amazing miracle story!
My story is actually about my son. On August 3rd 2009, my 12 year old son R. rode his bicycle through a red light and was hit by 2 SUVs. Against all odds my son survived.
My son lost; 1 kidney and half his liver, broke his pelvis, crushed 1 lung and lost 46 pints of blood through surgery(platelets, plasma, and red blood cells). My son has been nick-named “The Miracle Come Back Kid” by his friends and teachers.
Many good things have come out of this Miracle of life my son was given, such as; lectures on bike safety, interviews, commercials, blood drives, video, cartoon book, clothes line, and we were invited to go on the Maury Show.

weekly bible talk week 8 showing others christ through the real you.
As you know I have recently gotten saved again and have given my life back to Jesus after walking down the wrong path for a while. I been happily back on the right track for a little while now and I am finding my way and searching for God's calling for me in this life. Two weeks ago at church, pastor Brandon was talking about how important it is to be you all the time and be real because you never know who is watching and you are then showing them how christians behave and live. How does it show to others that God is real by the way we live? This is one of the questions that brandon asked us on sunday; this made me think, what in my life proves that God is real? I thought about this for a while as I sat in church and I realized this is a big thing that I need to work on. I need to work on being a beautiful christian girl all of the time not just at church and home but at school and everywhere I go. I then got to thinking, why on earth would anyone want to be like everyone else when you are all called who God made you to be and we are all completely different but we are all loved by the one that makes us one. People who are in those third or fourth chairs, the ones that don't know Jesus or have walked away from him; these are the people that watch christians and they pay attention to see how they live their lives. This is why it is so important to show these people what God is about and what Christians are called to do and to be. We do this by being kind and caring even to the meanest of people; just to show them that there is a god and he loves us all very much. Sometimes God puts someone in your life who isn't necessarily the nicest person. He does this not because he is picking on you but rather that he is testing your faith. God is calling each and everyone of us to something; we don't always know what this thing will be and sometimes we get frustrated because we don't see what the calling may be but sometimes all it takes is for you to give something to God and he will in return show you his calling for you. Also please don't forget that God loves you very very much! Remember if you need a friend or a person to talk to, my email is michaelaw98@gmail.com feel free to email me anytime and i will get back to you as soon as possible.

Weekly bible talk week 7 What chair are you in?
So two days ago on friday, my friend Andrea invited my other friend Nicole and I to her church for their youth night. At first I was hesitant on wanting to go but my mom said that I was going to go. I got there and I ended up having so much fun! There was a pastor there named Adrian Depres and he was speaking his message about the four chairs. There are four chairs of being a christian. The first chair is the chair you want to be in; the first chair is the best drug you could ever have. Adrian talked about how the when you are in the first chair, you are completely and madly in love with God and how people do crazy things when you are in love. He told us a story about a man he met at a conference about a week ago. The man was a christian and he was from Egypt, the man had gone to Libya to preach the word of God but since the man was a Christian he got put in jail for about 60 days. Each day the man would be beaten twice a day; five big guards would hang him by his arms and beat him. One of the days when he had just about given in and he couldn't take anymore his wife asked him what he wanted to do with all of his things and he told her to give them away to the poor. One of the guards heard this and was moved, so the guard held the other four guards back and told the man to run as fast as he could. So the man went out of there and he later decided to go back to Libya to preach the word of God because people do crazy things when they are in love. Then Adrian went on to talk about the 2nd chair. He said the 2nd chair is going through the motions. The 2nd chair is not really trying to be christian, feeling uncomfortable around the 1st chair people. The 2nd chair people have gotten used to God. To God the 2nd chair is puke; these people are just going through the motions, really unaware that the sins they are doing are seriously hurting Jesus. The second chair people are like cats, they think that they are God; they make up their own rules on christianity. The 1st chair people almost always take notes, the second chair people never take notes. How is it possible for someone to be a christian but never actually act like it? This is a question the people in the third chair ask. The third chair is the most dangerous because this is the seat the devil wants you to be in. This is the chair of hurt, broken, empty, shame. The third chair can and has led to self harm and or death. The people in the 2nd chair lead people in the third chair away because the 3rd chair people see the 2nd chair people doing the same things that they are but yet they call themselves christians. The third chair people are dogs; they think other people are god. Adrian then began to talk about the 4th chair. The 4th chair people are the ones who are not christian. The 4th chair people always know who the 1st chair people are. In the first chair you are being hurt sometimes but it is all for jesus. What crazy thing have you done for him lately? You can tell if someone believes in hell or not if they share their faith with other people. The first seat is going to suffer but god had a purpose in every little pain that you experience. Lay down your sins, if you do, everything will change! Are you having trouble with your parents? Let me tell you a story, you are not the only one. Lately I have been getting myself into a lot of dumb stuff and I found myself sitting in the third chair and I became very angry with myself but I took it out on my mom. Adrian talked about the reason you are having trouble with your parents is because you are having problems with your relationship with Jesus. I was just going through the motions, I found myself becoming very depressed a lot. There is another option than just going through the motions and death; there is another choice! That choice is the 1st chair. At church the second chair people act one way but act a completely different way at home or at school. The way you act is very important to show how christians act to people who are not christian or want to be until they see people going against the way Christians should act. If you are going to be you, then you need to be you everywhere. A Broad road can lead to hell and sadly many people are on that road. You can tell someone is a christian by your conviction of your sins. In the end of Adrian's service, he had everyone who was in the 3rd and 4th chairs that wanted to be a christian and wanted to be in the 1st chair stand up and come to the front. My eyes filled up with tears at the sight of how many people came up to the front to give their life to Jesus. Then he had the rest of the people come up to the front and he had all of us lay down on the ground and pray. I laid down on the ground and I burst into tears, repetitively saying I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, knowing I have been sining. My best friend who was laying next to me and crying too hugged me and I cried more. This is a day that changed my life and a day I will always remember this message and they day that my I found god again. So what chair are you in? Want to be in the first chair but don't know how? Or maybe you are in the 1st chair but you feel like you are slipping out of it. Email me at michaelaw98@gmail.com

Weekly bible talk week 6 perseverance
So this week at church a man named Jeffery, from another church came and lead the service. Jeffery and Pastor Brandon are very good friends and Jeffery's is that pastor at another church and when our church Canyon Creek was first starting 10 years ago, Jeffery seeded in our church. So pastor Brandon had Jeffery come and speak for the service and he talked about how life is a lot like learning to ride a bike. Sometimes you are going to crash and get hurt but it is your choice whether or not to get back up and keep trying; but I can assure you that if you quit now, your going to be quitting every day for the rest of your life. Some of you might be like "What does she mean by that?" that means that if you give up now you are just going to stop trying. Maybe that means with your work if you think it is too hard or your school, maybe you think people are mean and its just too difficult and you just want to give up, but if you give up now you are never going to be able to be motivated enough to get back on that bike and keep riding. As people sometimes we tend to isolate ourselves from other people; we want to be able to do things on our own without other people helping us. We all need to learn that it is alright to accept a little boost, in fact it is important. You are the person riding the bike but god is the one behind you giving you a little boost when you need it and the one in front of you to help you up once you have fallen. If you have something in your life that you feel like you just cant do it anymore it is too hard or you feel as if the peddles are going to fast and your feet are slipping off them, Email me honestly I am here for you I would love to talk to you about it and help you through any problems you might have. My email is Michaelaw98@gmail.com. Life sometimes is not easy but don't give up get back on that bike and keep trying. One of the last things Jeffery said before he ended the service was " who brought you to come to know Jesus?" This almost made me cry because immediately I thought of my mom. I know I can always turn to her if I need a prayer or even if I just need a friend to talk to. My mom is my best friend in the entire world but honestly sometimes I find it hard to bring myself to talk her about certain things (mostly about boys). I don't know why this is because she has always been there for me and she understands because she has been through high school and shes a girl. I realized I have been living my life in fear of what she might say or think and that's not alright I should be valuing my mother's opinion instead of fearing it. I am working on that because I love my mom and I want her to know that and I want to be able to share anything with her and I am getting there. I want you all to think about who first introduced you to Jesus Christ and I want you to email, text, twitter, or facebook message them and just tell them thank you.

weekly bible talk week 5 surrendering yourself and admitting who you are
So I went to church today and I had to hold back tears. Lately I have been feeling alone and depressed and sad and angry. I have felt so alone like I was the only one feeling this way but at church today our amazing pastor, pastor Brandon was speaking. Brandon spoke he told us about the story of Isaac and his twin sons and the struggles they faced not only with each other but with themselves. If you have not yet read the book of Genesis or at least Genesis Chapters 25 to chapter 32, I suggest you do; it is my favorite book of the bible. Anyways as pastor Brandon was talking about Isaac twins sons, he spoke about surrendering your desires. In life we grasp on so tight to the things we want and desire and sometimes your desires can hurt you in the end. He said "you need to be careful what you hate in other people, because God might be trying to show you something in you that you need to work on. He said "surrender your pride! Lay down your pride! Lay it down!" sometimes God wants us to be alone because he wants our undivided attention. Humiliation always leads to restoration. People get so wrapped up in their pride and like Jacob, at their breaking point they beg for mercy and cry out for help. Instead you need to lay down your pride and say " God I am lust, I am a cheater lord I am a liar God I am prideful." you need to lay down your life, for God because once you do that, you will be made new you will be given a new name and you will begin to see much more clear. Pastor Brandon said " your problem is you" it is as simple as that. As humans we take pride in ourselves and eventually we remorse and feel bad but we continue to share the blame with others instead of standing up to the thrown of God and saying " Lord I messed up take my heart Lord God and make me new, forgive me for my sins because my hands aren't clean Lord cleanse my heart." Pastor Brandon said " Surrender your time" many people are willing to confess their sins and their desires but they just can't give up their precious time to take a few minutes to praise God. pastor Brandon also said " People are messy" he is right people are messy yet we point our fingers at others when our hands are not even clean. Guys you need to understand that god loves you so much that he will allow you to reach your breaking point so that he can show you that something big he has in store for us. But if you want to see that something big he has for you, you have to choose to surrender all you are and lay it all down because God IS NEVER PUNISHING YOU!!!!!!!!! HE LOVES YOU MORE THAN ANYTHING YOU COULD EVER KNOW! Today I want you to do this for not for me but for yourself I want you to bow your head and close your eyes and just say this " God Speak to my heart and change my life" every church service Brandon has us say that and for the longest time I was so confused as to why he has always asked us to say that but it is because he wants us to confess that we all need Jesus in our lives. There are three things that as people we all need to work on I call them the three S's:
1. SURRENDER YOUR DESIRES
2. SURRENDER YOUR PRIDE
3. SURRENDER YOUR TIME
I want for you to think about those three S's today and I want you to try and get to working on them. and remember JESUS LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Weekly bible talk week 4 finding yourself through God
Hey, I know that I have not blogged in a while but I have been using that time to think about the way God has been working in my life and I have been working on finding the Lord in myself. Over these past few years I have come to realize that being a christian is not easy, that is something any true christian knows; but we dig deep and we find Jesus through the pain, hard times and the broken and when we do that we become strong, we become one strong tower. Someone very influential to me to me in my life once told me that that kind of strength shows through to others and it makes them want to be around you and want to see more of you because Jesus is shining through you and it is beautiful. I know sometimes temptations allow you to do stupid things and make mistakes but no matter what you are going through or where you have been, all that matters is where you are going. If you love God, trust in him and believe that no matter what he will be there for you, then you too will be able to see a bright and beautiful future full of Jesus Christ. Even though we are all beautiful and completely different people, everyone and I mean EVERYONE makes mistakes. But we all need to take those mistakes and find God through them and once you do, you will come to realize that hey you're beautiful and God loves you so very much, that means you should love you too. God has a plan for each and every one of us; no one is the same just like God's plans for us are all different. Like I said in the beginning of this blog post, being a Christian is not easy but it doesn't have to be easy, nothing does, as long as you believe in Jesus Christ. In 1 Samual 16:7 it says "But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”

Weekly bible talk week 3 Need
Week three and we are discussing needs; there are 2 different types of needs, a good need and a bad need. It is so important to indulge yourself in the right kind of need because the right kind of need attracts the super natural supply of God. All of us as humans need to seed into your need; your need may be small now but you are just a seed, you will someday grow bigger and so will your need. Philippians 4:19 says "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." If you take away your need, you are taking away the supply. 1 Corinthians 2:9 says "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” When god gives us a vision, it is always bigger than you and no matter how much you try it will not let go of you. You are a prisoner of great expectations. A life with out need is a pointless life. Find a need in people they did not know they had, go out and show people God's true potential for them even if they are not aware of it or do not listen to you. Lastly allow people to speak into the word of God in your life.

Weekly bible talk week 2 self acceptance
Week two, and we are discussing self acceptance. Self acceptance is so much more than looking in the mirror and accepting that is you; God's plan for us is to have a healthy lifestyle that we are able to love our selves for who we are. Ephesians 3:17, says may Christ dwell in your hearts through faith. may you be rooted deeply in in love and established by love. I think what this verse is trying to say is that Jesus Christ loves us and we should make him our home full of comfort and love in our hearts. It is so important to love yourself because if you do not love yourself you will not be able to love others. This may sound crazy but it's true, I have been so insecure for so long about my weight and my body, no one really know how insecure I truly was but Jesus spoke to me and told me that I am beautiful because I am his creation and we are all God's beautiful children. God sees if we are lacking self confidence. God doesn't just see the bad things we have done that we often just hold deep inside but he sees the beautiful people that we are and he sees our loving hearts.

weekly bible talk week 1 Hurt and pain
We are going to begin something new on this blog. Every week I will have a new subject that appears in life and in the bible. During the course of time that I have the weekly bible talk, feel free to email me on any questions, input, comments or personal stories/ experiences. Email me at Michaelaw98@gmail.com
This week we are disusing hurt and pain. There are many verses that talk about hurt and pain. Pslams 41:7 All that hate me whisper together against me against me as they devise my hurt (as they imagine the worst for me.) I think that this bible verse is trying to say is that haters will be haters so do not let mean people knock you down or crush your dreams. There will always be times in life when you are going to struggle and you will go through challenges and sometimes you will get hurt but just because you are hurt does not mean you are broken. I have had my fair share of times like that but it is always an option to use God's love and grace to help you stand back on your feet again. This is healing; the most important type of healing is the emotional healing. In 2 Corinthians 4:16 the apostle Paul said that even though our outer man is continuously decaying and being wasted away, our inner self is being progressively changed and restored each and every day. In the book of Isaiah, the Lord came and healed those who were brokenhearted, meaning those who have felt betrayed or emotionally crushed. I have been in this situation before, when at one moment everything goes great and at the next moment, you step on the wrong stone and slide back down the mountain; when this happens, do not give up. Continue on your way, it was probably just God's way of telling you to pick a different path to travel on and remember whenever you are spiritually or emotionally in a bad place, God will always meet you there, no matter where you are he will be there.
